Corporate Application: Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test

An employee is an asset for an organization.

Growth of the employees plays an important role in the retention of the manpower, and pays to the growth of the organization as well.

Matching the skills required for a project/role and the personality type is always a big challenge for the management. It is always a risk of double loss by giving promotion to an existing employee; loss of a performer in the previous role, and loss of a manager in a new role, if, the personality type does not suit to the new role.

Most of the organizations follow the process of internal assessment for promotions, even then the risk prevails.

Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test ((DMIT) can be of great help to reduce this risk of mis-match. This scientific technique could not only help in selection of the employees but also finding the needs of training and learning patterns.

Dermatoglyphics is the term coined by Dr. Harold Cummins, the father of American fingerprint analysis.
DMIT is the scientific study of the finger prints. It is developed between 13th week to 21st week of pregnancy and remain unchanged throughout life. The study of dermatoglyphics started to understand the genetic defects of the human beings. The study of finger prints (dermatoglyphics) traces back to 1628 A.D. by Marcello Malphigi in Italy.

DMIT got a boost when Dr. Harward Gardner published his research in the book "Frames of Mind" in 1983, which talked about the EIGHT TYPES OF MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES;
1. Verbal Linguistic Intelligence
2. Visual Spatial Intelligence
3. Inter-personal Intelligence
4. Intra-personal Intelligence
5 Logical Mathematical Intelligence
6. Naturalistic Intelligence
7. Musical Intelligence
8. Bodily Kinaesthetic Intelligence

We have all the above intelligence but, few of them are dominant thus governing our personality type.

DMIT profile also discusses about the 'DISC Personality Type' of the person which takes the study in detail about the personality traits, strength and areas of improvement. The interaction between the different personality types is also dealt in detail.

RIASEC theory helps to find the traits of the person, be it the leadership qualities or the qualities of a team player. Is the person a Realistic thinker or having Investigative bend of mind?

LOBE activity of brain talks about the response and qualities of the person in certain situation. The strengths, a person will exhibit and the areas where he needs to work upon.

IQ and EQ are widely known. AQ (Adversity Quotient) which tells about the mental reaction to the high pressure situations while CQ (Creative Quotient) defines the creativity thus innovative ideas, and ability to think out of box.

VAK theory talks about the learning pattern of an employee; Visual, Audio or Kinaesthetic learner. An useful tool to device the training programs for the set of employees.

Multiple Intelligence defines the type of dominant intelligences and thus the suitable roles.

An organization can use DMIT for different needs; selection of the team for a project, training need analysis, personality profile of the employees which can be used in behavioural counselling.

DMIT is done by scanning the fingerprints of the person and generating a life time profile.
DMIT is itself a comprehensive report and thus needs counsellor to interpret it in context to the objective of the test.

In recent past, the same has been talked in terms of the career and behavioural counselling of the children but, professional approach to the same is missing and the level of awareness about DMIT is almost nil in India.

Baby Steps...

How often do we notice the way we treat ourselves in every moment? Do we need to revisit our relationship with ourselves? These   thoughts   were revealed to me in     “self healing” session.                 Few weeks back, I was healing my most knotty issue which is related to my career.   My friends know about the step I took few years back regarding my career and surprised everyone. The good part was, my entire family did not question for a single time on my next move as if everybody was so confident about my thoughts and skills. Three years have passed and I am heading on the path I chose with full determination though the road is rough and tough. As a human, I am also having emotions which often pull me down. I feel sometimes that I am blocked . Even though I am having skills but, not applying it in optimum way or, let’s say the minimum required quantum of work is missing. This self analysis burdens me with a heavy weight of guilt on my heart and numbs me. I

Misconceptions in Astrology: MANGLIK DOSHA

As an astro counsellor, generally I hear some quotes from the people about certain yogas (planetary combinations) and planets, which are percieved to be dangerous and, even life threatening. Examples: Manglik dos h a (a combination formed by the placement of Mars [Mangal] in the natal chart). It is believed that, it can create havoc in the married life of a person. Shani (Saturn) is refered as a dangerous planet by the common people and even most of the astrologers. Shani's mahadasa, Shani 's sade-saati, Shani Dhayiya etc are the terms which rob the night's sleep of a person once told about them. Rahu-Ketu are the planets which also fall in the same catagory of creating terror in the mind of a common man. Birth in Moola nakshtra is another hyped yoga about it's inauspiciousness. This list is long. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this article, I am

You forget yourself

Have we ever thought that, our own success can teach us principles of being successful? Read this article... SUCCESS is a buzz word in today's fast track world. We are running since morning till night in search of success. Lot of pages have been written on this most important ingredient of our self esteem. Lot many philosophies and ideologies revolve round this but, the truth is, success is having different definitions for all of us in different situations of our life. I read a book recently where the writer pointed out the important point; We succeed in every moment . Even rising live in the morning and getting to bed again after facing the entire day is the success. So, success is not having a fixed definition. It varies. In childhood, getting that win in street game was the success and, scoring first division in class tenth got to another level of success. Getting a good job, married to a loving partner, starting a family and...th
