Astrology: Know the fact

A thought came accross and decided to write this article.

I am learning astrology since last 18 years. In this ongoing journey of learning I have understood following points about this divine science which I am putting for your understanding.

Before I begin, there is one affirmation ; these points are my understanding. I do not claim that these are to be accepted by all or, would be agreeable by the experts.
Secondly, I do not call myself an astrologer. I am a student and, like to call myself an astro counsellor.

What is Astrology?

In Sanskrit, it is called as "Jyotish". Jyotish mean 'Jyoti', the light. Light of knowledge, enlightment, truth. Truth of ourselves about the choices we made before we decided to come to this incarnation.

Most of us do not know that, the life we are living has been chosen by us as a soul before we incarnated as human being. This life is chosen to learn some unlearned lessons, and, to enjoy the fruits of good deeds.
The life is planned with the help of our spiritual guides.

During our journey as a human being, we come across the points where we have decided to learn the lessons, and usually these are the tough times of our life, in the form of relationships, finances, career growth, health problems, facing insoluble situations in some form or others.

These good and bad times, are reflected in our horoscopes ( Natal Chart/Janam Patri). At the time of birth, the zodiac map (twelve signs, nine planets [as per vedic astrology], 27 constellations) is our horoscope.

So natal chart tells the future?

In layman language, yes, it tells the future. It predicts the future. Even most of the astrologers promote it in the same way. TV and print media both are having features on daily horoscopes/predictions.

In my view, it is not fully correct.

Jyotish is the enlightment of your path. A true jyotishi (astrologer) will never scare the person by giving mere predictions. A true jyotishi will counsel his subject who has come to know what is there for him in coming times.

What exactly a jyotishi (astrologer) is supposed to do?

A jyotishi (astrologer) should see the natal chart, and must cast a prasna chart (question chart) of the moment which will reflect the specific query in mind.

He should subscribe to the principles of spiritual astrology which is the correct way to see in the soul's plan in this incarnation. Accordingly, the jyotish must counsel the person who is consulting him.

The prime objective of the jyotishi (astrologer) must be to prepare the person for future course of action, mentally.

What can be expected out of such consultations?

In such consultations, jyotishi (astrologer) must bring the truth in articulated form (must not hide the truth) especially about the tough times ahead.

One must understand that, tough time is having a hidden lesson in it which is to be learned for the spiritual growth as a soul. Accepting the situation, understanding it bit by bit by going through it, and submitting to the almighty are the best ways (shall elaborate more in this article).

Please note, there are fixed karmas which can never be changed like, the family one borns in, time of exit from this world, and some other major events where, the soul has decided to learn some intense lessons or ejoy the time. But, there is a big portion of the karma which could be altered if we know how to do it.

Predictions are meaningful only if it can help in prevention.

How can it be done?

This can be done by adopting following one or more methods, mentioned below;

  • After understanding the impact and duration of the situation, one must prepare mentally to face the situation with an understanding that, this is his own choice and, to learn something out of it. It is difficult but, that is what the essence of astrology. Prediction has been made to empower the person to take corrective action, not to make fearful and just think it an act of bad luck.
  • One must do communicative prayers. One can pray to GOD (as per religious faith), Guru (the preceptor), or some spiritual energy to whom he or she feels the resonance. Communicative prayers, where one mentally pours his heart out and ask for guidance from the higher self. Faith is the root of manifestations of these prayers. Trust yourself and your higherself. Trust the blessings of the elders. These prayers must be done as much as possible. At the time of going to the bed and leaving it, these prayers give great strength and directions. The solutions do come out of the blue. Just Trust...
  • Be vigilent about your conduct and the points pointed by the astrologer. DO NOT FEAR. Be in awareness of your actions and also, the actions of the others. Follow the rules and regulations and never try to play with them, in order to avoid many troubles which come due to such issues.
  • Pay special attention towards your health in tough times.
  • One can follow the remedies suggested by the jyotishi (astrologer) along with the above steps. Astrological remedies are like umbrella in the rain. One can not stop rain but can reduce the degree of impact.

Please remember, avoiding/getting rid of situation will never help you. It creates karmic trap. It is better to face the situation and by following above steps (all of them or some of them) will take you through the situation, where you will learn what have you chosen.

Remember one thing, a situation coming to your awareness in advance, has a component which can be modified with an intention to face it in best and the highest way. This way, that situation does not create the misery we experience. I do not say that, your tough time coverts to the time of joy, but, you go through the situation with more acceptance and attitude to complete the lesson.

Example:

A person is told that, in next two years, there is a tough time which could impact him financially and legal actions are suspected which he is not able to see in present moment. The situations will take sudden turn and would impact him adversely in areas of finances, market reputation, health and family relationships.

In this case, one way is, the person can be scarey and fears a lot that, he starts reacting in unwanted way in current times. His fears will certainly impact his behaviour and could veil his practical thinking where the impact may be felt much before the actual predicted time.

Other way is, the person should take it as a part of his journey. He should be aware about the various actions and decisions he takes in day to day life. He must be vigilant (not skeptic and fearful) on the staff, legal aspects of his business, family relationships, business relationships, should be more watchful while making new deals, document signing etc.
He must further subscribe to the communicative prayers and ask directions. If Astrologer has prescribed some astro remedies like charity, stone etc, he can go for it.
Must be mentally prepared that, inspite of all the precautions, there are unforeseen events which will come in the way and should put faith in the Ishta Deva (Creator) that, he will be empowered enough to face it and solve it too.

He will get his lesson from it and would learn more on to trusting the divine and learning to be fearless and self dependent.

The above example is just an example which happens to many of us. There are numerous situations in our relationships, health, finances, habits which are only there to show our unlearned lesson.

Is there some other way too?

Yes, one can come to HEALING (Serenity Surrender) where one can resolve such issues by way of understanding the unlearned lessons of his journey. Serenity Surrender is a healing modality which helps to deal with the karmic blocks (which are indicated by natal chart) at sub-concsious level and heal the roots of that karma and thus, the understanding of the situation comes and person is able to sail through the situations with lot of acceptance and ease.

In last, I conclude that, our lessons are fixed but, there is no mandate that we have to learn them through suffering and misery (which are actually the perception of the situation as per our karmic code). We can learn them with total submission to the creator without being miserable. Also, come out of the myth that, entire life is pre-fixed and nothing could be changed. Right attitude and Right actions are in our hand which certainly impacts the situations in life while accepting the lessons out of the situation, and this is the essence of Jyotish (Astrology).

Let's start the acceptance of our enternal journey and learning the lessons from this week onwards,

Baby Steps...

How often do we notice the way we treat ourselves in every moment? Do we need to revisit our relationship with ourselves? These   thoughts   were revealed to me in     “self healing” session.                 Few weeks back, I was healing my most knotty issue which is related to my career.   My friends know about the step I took few years back regarding my career and surprised everyone. The good part was, my entire family did not question for a single time on my next move as if everybody was so confident about my thoughts and skills. Three years have passed and I am heading on the path I chose with full determination though the road is rough and tough. As a human, I am also having emotions which often pull me down. I feel sometimes that I am blocked . Even though I am having skills but, not applying it in optimum way or, let’s say the minimum required quantum of work is missing. This self analysis burdens me with a heavy weight of guilt on my heart and numbs me. I

Misconceptions in Astrology: MANGLIK DOSHA

As an astro counsellor, generally I hear some quotes from the people about certain yogas (planetary combinations) and planets, which are percieved to be dangerous and, even life threatening. Examples: Manglik dos h a (a combination formed by the placement of Mars [Mangal] in the natal chart). It is believed that, it can create havoc in the married life of a person. Shani (Saturn) is refered as a dangerous planet by the common people and even most of the astrologers. Shani's mahadasa, Shani 's sade-saati, Shani Dhayiya etc are the terms which rob the night's sleep of a person once told about them. Rahu-Ketu are the planets which also fall in the same catagory of creating terror in the mind of a common man. Birth in Moola nakshtra is another hyped yoga about it's inauspiciousness. This list is long. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this article, I am

You forget yourself

Have we ever thought that, our own success can teach us principles of being successful? Read this article... SUCCESS is a buzz word in today's fast track world. We are running since morning till night in search of success. Lot of pages have been written on this most important ingredient of our self esteem. Lot many philosophies and ideologies revolve round this but, the truth is, success is having different definitions for all of us in different situations of our life. I read a book recently where the writer pointed out the important point; We succeed in every moment . Even rising live in the morning and getting to bed again after facing the entire day is the success. So, success is not having a fixed definition. It varies. In childhood, getting that win in street game was the success and, scoring first division in class tenth got to another level of success. Getting a good job, married to a loving partner, starting a family and...th
